Begonia Erythrophylla (Beefsteak Begonia) is a rare begonia found in tropical and sub-tropical areas. Not usually sold in plant stores, the beefsteak begonia is a real collector's item. The contrast in colors between the front and back of leaves is truly spectacular.
Our 12-18" tall beefsteak begonia is grown by a local New York nursery that has specialized in hard to find perennials, ornamental grasses, and flowering shrubs since 1969. The company's success has stemmed from the founder's passion for understanding plants and his thirst for discovery; the company's mission since its founding has echoed this passion. A propagator of many varieties of begonias, we were amazed when we stumbled upon a grower in the Northeast who had not just one beefsteak begonia, but several crops of these beautiful plants and a genius technique for propagating them.
This plant is not grown year round and as such supplies are extremely limited. Get yours while they are in stock.
For an overview on how we ship plants to you, see our guide here. All items are shipped from Florida on Mondays or Tuesdays to allow for maximum continuous transit time while avoiding time spent sitting in warehouses, trucks, or other distribution points over the weekend. Depending on your location and the weather conditions across the country, we may be forced to hold on shipping until conditions improve as we have had items freeze while sitting in Chicago for four days and get delayed due to heavy holiday volume (Mother's Day, Christmas, etc.). We will make every attempt to ship your item promptly on the very next Monday or Tuesday given that there are no anomalies in shipping conditions.
Items received in a damaged condition will be refunded immediately as we investigate the cause of the issue with the shipper. Returns will not be accepted, please dispose of any unusable items after they have been refunded.
